Apaar Bangla is an original Bengali band based in Boston and was formed in the summer of 2009. Since then, the band has performed at several concerts and has received a lot of praise and attention in the Indian and American press and in internet media forums worldwide. In December 2011, Apaar Bangla's first CD, 'East West Metro' is being released by Saregama India.
The word 'Apaar denotes the absence of boundaries and Apaar Bangla's members come from different parts of the
world - Bangladesh, India, Vietnam and the U.S. The mantra for Apaar Bangla is 'music without borders' and in that spirit the band also draws inspiration from genres as diverse as Bangla folk, rock and roll, and urban pop.
